Male Chest Implant
This surgery is indicated for men who want to have a more protruding chest region, simulating developed pectoral muscles. The insertion of prostheses quickly gives defined pectoral muscles. This is the function of pectoral prosthesis, made of a more compact material, which has the exact consistency of a worked out muscle.
The surgery is indicated only for men over 18 years of age, for this is the time when a man reaches hormonal balance and his musculoskeletal structures and the skin are already developed.
The incision is made below the armpit (five to six centimeters) where the doctor inserts a silicone prosthesis, whose size varies according to the size of the chest, height and bone structure. The prosthesis format is always rectangular and it is inserted under the pectoral muscle. The cut is sutured with absorbable stitches and surgical glue.
Usually, epidural anesthesia with sedation is used. The procedure lasts about 1 hour and a half and the hospital discharge happens on the same day. The resulting scar is hidden in the armpit, under the hair of the region.
The place can be washed as usual after 48 hours. Avoid making efforts during the first week and raising the arms above the shoulder for two weeks. The patient needs to wear a pectoral belt, a kind of shirt made of surgical mesh to help in the healing process, tissue adhesion and to reduce swelling and bleeding. Avoid sun exposure for 45 days or until the ecchymosis (hematomas) disappear. A lymphatic drainage can be done two weeks after surgery to help reducing the swelling.
You can return to work after a week. After ten days you can drive. Light physical activity, such as walking, can be done after three weeks, and bodybuilding after 45 days.
